Holy Roman Empire Coins

The Holy Roman Empire existed from 962 to 1806 and was a major European power. During this period, numerous rulers, including the Ottonians, Salians, Hohenstaufens, and Habsburgs, minted a variety of coins.

Some of the most notable rulers were Charles V, who ruled from 1519 to 1556 and attempted to establish a currency union, and Ferdinand I, who ruled from 1558 to 1564 and solidified the Habsburg dynasty.
